We are looking at running some more Tasar training, open to all members of the Class Association. The questions I'm asking are;

- What format do people want? ie. Sat training/ Sun open meeting, Sat/ Sun training, or just one day?

- Where do people want the training?At National Championship venues? Central inland venues? Prestigous training venues (eg. Weymouth Olympic centre)?

- What level? What price are people prepared to pay? If we pay more, we can get professional coaches; pay less, volunteers..

- FYI we are looking at doing an informal training/ practice day the day before the Nationals, Thursday 16th September. TBC.

Please reply on this topic so everyone can see our thoughts...

Cheers

Hi Nathan,
here are my ideas on training.
Generally prefer Saturday with a format as follows:
- watch a video of sailors and comment on good and bad technique and set up
- go out and practice and get videoed
- watch videos over lunch and comment
-after lunch pair up with a boat of similar performance and do two-boat testing to improve on skills (this is better than racing the full fleet where the good people quickly pull away and slower boats then learn nothing
I don't mind the venue, but like the idea of going to Weymouth, and nationals venues, and definitely prefer training on the sea. As far as cost goes, would pay up to £50 if it involved videoing, professional coaches, and high levels of 1:1 time with a coach.
Those are my ideas, what do others think?

Agree with Duncan on style and cost. sea or lake is not an issue, though its always good to get videoed on a windy day at sea.

Mark roundings under pressure were a big thing for us in Japan. So 30 minutes sailing tiny course say 10 laps, with camera at mark would be great.
